Photographer’s description: “On his 50th birthday, my buddy Josh led us up Mount Si. He climbs it almost every weekend, but it was my first time, and I was on borrowed microspikes. Clear skies and the Super Bowl produced a great day to hike. I captured this picture with a Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II.”
Critique: “What a view! Happy belated to Josh. This picture is so interesting, with the light and the shadows highlighting the contours of the mountains in the distance. The subject exudes a sense of pride, even though we can’t see his face. That’s part of the charm of this photo, though. It seems a little overexposed to me, but the only detail lost is in the clouds. Overall, it’s a nice photo of a memorable day in a beautiful place.”
