Photographer: Dan Evans, Jr., Seattle

Photo taken: Feb. 22, from Newcastle Golf Club, looking west

Photographer’s description: “Other than the bitter cold that rendered my fingers useless, this shot could have been taken in August, the sunset was so colorful. Nikon D750 with Nikkor 80-400mm zoom at 300mm, F8 and 1.6-second exposure.”

Critique: “The mountains provide a great clean background for the contrast of the city lights. The long exposure really helps bring out the color of the lights as well as the beautiful winter sunset colors.”
