Reader JJ Johnson captures San Juan Island's palette of blue.
Photographer: JJ Johnson Photo taken: Sept. 29, 2018 at Cattle Point on San Juan Island Photographer’s description: “Taken on San Juan Island in Washington. My wife and I hiked out to Cattle Point to look off into the distance. Lopez Island, where we were staying, is just behind the point with the Cascades just visible in the distance.” Critique: “One thing that really stands out to me are all the elements that pull you through the frame of the image. The fence and trails direct you to the solo hiker, which gives you a great sense of scale in this chilly-looking scene.” Below is a gallery of previous Reader’s Lens picks.
