On a recent trip to the B and B Lavender Farm in Sequim, Seattle Times reader Jane C Monserud captured neatly patterned rows of purple and green.

Photographer’s description: “I had never been to a lavender farm before … when driving by Sequim I saw a sign to one. This photo was taken at the B and B Lavender Farm. I was a little disappointed that the lavender really wasn’t in bloom yet. But the patterns and shapes of the bulging lavender plants make very interesting patterns.”
Critique: “Even though the lavender wasn’t in bloom yet, the rows of the plants that create a vanishing point help make this a visually interesting photo. The diverse patterns complimented by the green and purples really give you a lot to look at in this photo.”
