Photographer: Chris Picard Photo taken: Nov. 24, 2018 in Seattle Photographer’s description: “A male wood duck putting on quite a mating display for all the female wood ducks in the nearby waterway. He was just sensational and I’m certain all the female wood ducks were duly impressed. Taken with a Nikon D500 and a Tamron 150 X 600mm G2 lens. Focal length 600 mm, shutter speed 1//2000, f/6.3, ISO 1000.” Critique: “This well composed photo with a clean background and vivid colors combined with a quick shutter speed showing flecks of water flying off the feathers lets me experience the display through the photographer’s eye.” Below is a gallery of previous Reader’s Lens picks.
