RANT to food and beverage companies that make it hard to see the expiration date of their products. Beverage companies use black ink on clear plastic bottles filled with dark fluids like colas or tea. I have also found “Matrix” style printing on the contoured bottoms of spice and seasoning bottles. The worst, though, is the company that uses silver ink on shiny white paper. They follow the letter of the law, but make it hard for consumers.
RAVE to the great care by workers in removing the viaduct. From my front-row seat near the Market, I’ve watched the crews use hoses for excess dust, delicately break off pieces of concrete and remove the debris. Even a crow who built her nest next to the deconstruction raised her young there all summer and still returns to check on the ongoing work. Congratulations for a job well done in a crowded urban area!
