RAVE to the young man with coffee who backtracked at the bottom of the Northeast 45th Street viaduct to help two 80-year-olds cross four lanes of traffic without cross markings or pedestrian lights to get from University Village to the bus stop for southbound buses.

RANT to the owners of “Piper,” the off-leash dog on the Little Si hiking trail. The risk of having your dog bark and charge at strangers in a place where she should be on-leash is bad enough, but a little kindness also goes a long way: a simple apology would certainly have helped assuage the situation.

RAVE to the City of Bellevue’s free tree giveaway (with mulch and a tree-watering bag) that aims to provide a long-term tree canopy for our future. I applied and was a lucky recipient. Thank you.
