Watch the video for step-by-step instructions from cocktail author Paul Clarke.
Cocktail author Paul Clarke came to reporter Tan Vinh’s house to mix drinks and discuss how to build your cocktail repertoire. Here are his instructions on how to make a Manhattan, from his book “The Cocktail Chronicles.”
Manhattan
Ingredients
2 oz. rye whiskey
1 oz. sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Method
Stir with ice to chill; strain into chilled glass. Garnish.
Note
Use bourbon if the cause moves you. This is a good drink to try out different bitters — Boker’s and Abbott’s are very good, as are Dale DeGroff’s aromatic pimento bitters.
