The accolades just keep piling up for Seattle's newest superstar chef, and rightfully so.

It’s official, again, this time according to Food & Wine: Edouardo Jordan‘s Seattle restaurant JuneBaby is one of the very best new restaurants in the United States of America. In her paean to the place, Food & Wine restaurant editor Jordana Rothman points out the “complex and confronting narrative that Jordan… handles with a lot of care… he delivers
the message using a universal language: thoughtful, delicious food.” She quotes Jordan: “I wanted to present Southern food from a black chef’s perspective — to present the good and the bad, the stereotypes and the reality.” In a follow-up, Rothman says, “It’s impossible not to be moved by JuneBaby — the flavors Edouardo Jordan is exploring, the stories he is telling, the exquisite way it all comes together on the plate.”

Add the Food & Wine top-10 list to the growing pile of prizes for JuneBaby and Jordan: The place just received a three-star (!) review from the New York Times entitled “A Celebration of Black Southern Food, at JuneBaby in Seattle.” JuneBaby was also named one of Eater’s 12 best new restaurants in the country last summer, with a rave review from critic Bill Addison headlined “America’s Next Great Southern Restaurant Is in the Pacific Northwest.”

And along with even more previous accolades, there’s the very real possibility that Jordan will join the ranks of James Beard award-winners this May 7 — he’s a finalist for Best Chef: Northwest, and JuneBaby is up for Best New Restaurant.

L’Oursin was the perfect place to catch up with an old friend, and Adana was just so delicious and thoughtful. I also really loved the scratch banh mi at Lan Hue!”
