The carpet may be red, but many of the most memorable Oscar gowns of recent years have turned up pink, in hues ranging from pale blush to vivid corals and fuschias. Gwyneth Paltrow’s bubblegum-pink Ralph Lauren dress from 1999 (the year she won for “Shakespeare in Love”) is believed to have started the trend, but it’s really caught hold in the last few years. Turns out everyone looks pretty in pink.
