The Seattle Times’ 2015 Peeps Contest has come to an artful conclusion with the selection of this year’s grand prize winner, “Neo-Peepism Art Movement,” by Dorothy Skans, of Seattle.

Skans’ winning entry (see below) shows a handful of nattily attired bunnies attending a reception in a gallery, whose walls are hung with finely detailed Peeps artworks (masterpeeps, if you will).

“The (entry) I did on a whim one day,” Skans said. “I just started it one Sunday morning and by Sunday night it was done. I think I even skipped church.”

Skans said nearly all of her entry came from things lying around the house.

“What I am is a craft-supply hoarder, and I don’t believe in going out and buying [more] craft supplies,” she said. “Except for the Peeps; I had to go buy the Peeps.”

The youth prize went to 11-year-old Ava Markwardt, of Seattle, for “Peepclipse Park.” It was inspired by a news story about a dog named Eclipse, who takes a bus by himself to an off-leash dog park.

Markwardt said her favorite part of the process was making the cutout of the bus.

This year’s edition of the annual contest drew nearly 200 entries, with some recurring themes: sports (Seahawks and the U.S. Open); Big Bertha; “50 Shades of Grey” and tributes to the late Leonard Nimoy.

Skans won a $50 cash card; Markwardt, $25.
