Motivated to push the boundaries of women’s ultrarunning feats, Issaquah’s Kaytlyn Gerbin sets women’s record on Wonderland Trail

In a summer where athletes are attempting and breaking Fastest Known Times all over the place, Issaquah’s Kaytlyn Gerbin claimed the women’s FKT record on the Wonderland Trail this week, when she ran the 90-plus miles in 18:41.53.

Kaytlyn Gerbin ran 93 miles nonstop around Mount Rainier's Wonderland Trail on Aug. 26, completing the run in a little over 18 hours, 41 minutes. Gerbin adds to a summer of newly set fastest known times in the Pacific Northwest as athletes compete against themselves amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
