Recent years have seen sandals decked out in tassels, studs and yards of lacing. But this year’s hottest spring shoe trend goes even bigger — with oversized bows and twists taking over the fronts of sandals, slides and even sneakers.

The look is playful and elegant, and it seems almost every designer has jumped on the twisty trend. Here are five of our favorites.

Seychelles Coast Knotted Slide Sandal ($85 at Nordstrom). A white platform adds lift to these leather slides that look fresh out of a European seaside resort. The twist adds casual flair, and is available in four colors, including a cool denim blue.

Topshop Halo Bow Slider ($30 at us.topshop.com). These cheap and chic slides quickly sell out each time they’re restocked, so keep checking back to try out the trend for less. A satin bow pairs with a plastic sole to create the most Instagram-friendly pool-slide ever. Available in olive and pink.

Puma x Fenty Bow Sneaker ($160 at Likelihood, Capitol Hill). Big bows aren’t just for sandals. Even sneakers can get the twist-tied treatment. Rhianna’s Fenty kicks aren’t for the timid, but are more wearable than you might think in satin pink or olive.

Nine West Onosha Bow Flatform Sneakers ($79 at Macy’s). Nine West has a preppier take on the bow sneaker with this sleek style. They’re available in heather gray or denim fabric, while the all-white leather version adds in the white sneaker trend, which continues to be a hot look for summer.

Kennel & Schmenger Bow Pointed Flat Slide ($300 at zappos.com). Go for a more luxe look with these sophisticated slides in a chic nude hue. A pointed toe elongates the leg without the need for a heel, so they’re perfect for outdoor weddings and special events.
