Trade in your reindeer-festooned adult onesie for some cashmere and velvet.
There’s been a proliferation in recent years of kitschy Christmas PJs. But if you have enough reindeer-festooned adult onesies, here are some chic options for lounging like a pro.
Everlane Cashmere Sweatpants ($140 at everlane.com). Any seasoned lounger needs a solid pair of cashmere sweatpants. Everlane’s, made from 100 percent Mongolian cashmere, are priced accessibly enough that even slackers without a trust fund can enjoy them.
Arela Lounge Socks ($112 at arelastudio.com). Scandinavians are serious about lounging. The Danes have “hygge,” the act of getting cozy, and the Finns have “kalsarikannit,” which means, roughly, enjoying a glass of wine in your underwear. It probably shouldn’t surprise, then, that this Finnish knitwear label has created cashmere socks expressly for sleeping. They suggest you don’t wear them with shoes (or walk in them, for that matter).
Racil Windsor Tie-Waist Velvet Robe ($676 at matchesfashion.com). This line’s modern tuxedos debuted in 2015, and its velvet robes have the same luxe sophistication. While they look plenty nice in an evening outfit, they’d be ever so chic over pajamas.
Slumberland Hot Water Bottle & Cover ($78 at bestmadeco.com). The Slumberland line, a collaboration between luxury pajama label Sleepy Jones and Best Made Co., includes this hot-water bottle with a cover made from custom-weave merino wool.
Marc Jacobs Dégradé Paillette Sweater (on sale for $297 at neimanmarcus.com). Somewhere between a schlubby basic and a going-out top lies the sparkly sweater. It says, “I value comfort but still like to party.”
