Sub Pop’s vinyl holiday single includes Christmas classics from two Seattle grunge legends.
When you live in Seattle, standard old Christmas music won’t do.
Crank up your holiday spirit with local label Sub Pop’s exclusive 7-inch vinyl recording of ’90s Seattle rock bands Green River (featuring future Pearl Jam members Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard) and U-Men, performing their renditions of “Away in a Manger” and “Blue Christmas,” respectively.
Neither song is available on other recordings, and “Away in a Manger” will not be on upcoming reissues of Green River’s “Dry as a Bone” and “Rehab Doll” albums.
The single is pressed on red and green vinyl in a limited run of just 2,000 copies, with cover art by cartoonist Peter Bagge. Makes a great gift for your favorite music fan — while quantities last.
