Ed the Plumber: This style of tub has at least two flagship features built into a single unit.

Q: We’re looking into a tub for our new bathroom and came across the term “combination bathtub.” Can you please explain the term and give us some features of these tubs?

A: Part of the confusion about combination bathtubs is they can represent a few different types of tubs. From my experience, I consider a combo bathtub to be one that has at least two flagship features built into a single tub.

For instance, a whirlpool tub offers hydro-massage therapy and uses a pump to provide a powerful massage, while a bubble massage tub uses an air blower with tiny holes in the tub base and gently lets the bubbles rise around you for an easy massage.

They are two completely different bathing experiences, but both are very enjoyable and can be combined into a single bathtub that can double your fun.
