Q: We’re building a new home and thinking about installing wall-hung toilets for both bathrooms. Is this a crazy idea? Also, can you please give us some advantages of wall-hung toilets?

A: Wall-hung toilets are the talk of the town among many new-home builders. I mention new homes because it’s a lot easier to rough-in a wall-hung toilet for a new home than it is to remodel an existing bathroom for one.

Today’s residential wall-hung toilets have really changed in comparison to the old models. Most notably, many now have concealed tanks that are installed inside the wall. This is a great space-saving feature.

The heights of a wall-hung toilet bowl can also be adjustable for a custom fit. Many models feature water-saving technology, and some even have built-in bidets and smart-toilet features.
