‘The Sound of Music’

The traditional holiday showing of the classic 1965 movie of the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical drama set in Austria in 1938, starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, based on the true story of Maria, who became the governess for widower Captain von Trapp’s seven children while she was deciding whether to become a nun. She fell in love with the children, and eventually, Captain von Trapp, before they fled the Nazis; 7 p.m. Sunday on KOMO.

“Miss Universe Competition,” 7 p.m. (KCPQ): Nearly 100 women compete in multiple categories to vie for the crown at the annual pageant in Bangkok, Thailand, hosted by Steve Harvey.

“White Christmas,” 7:45 p.m. (SUNDANCE): The 1954 holiday classic starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen; former Army buddies put on a show with a sister act to save their general’s hotel in Vermont.

“God Friended Me,” 8 p.m. (KIRO): Miles is shocked when the God account sends him the name of the drunken driver who killed his mother; Cara and Rakesh must help him face the worst moment of his life in order to move forward; Miles and Rakesh learn more about the mysterious hacker.

“A Gingerbread Romance,” 8 p.m. (HALLMARK): Another in Hallmark’s popular series of original holiday movies; an architect begins to find herself longing for a place to call her own as she works alongside a baker to win a gingerbread-house contest.

“Holiday Gingerbread Showdown,” 9 p.m. (FOOD): Finale; three finalists create their biggest Ultimate Holiday Celebration scene, with one winning the grand prize, to be featured in Food Network Magazine.

“NCIS: Los Angeles,” 9 p.m. (KIRO): The NCIS team searches for a Marine reservist with a history of post-traumatic stress disorder who disappears after a drunk-and-disorderly fight.
