Chris Hemsworth, who had been one of the headliners scheduled to appear at Ace Comic Con June 22-24 at WaMu Theater and CenturyLink Field Event Center, has pulled out due to conflicts with his filming schedule.
Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, won’t be coming to ACE Comic Con in Seattle after all.
He had been one of the headliners scheduled to appear at ACE Comic Con, taking place Friday through Sunday, June 22-24, at WaMu Theater and CenturyLink Field Event Center.
But on Friday, the actor tweeted that he won’t be able to come due to last-minute scheduling conflicts:
ACE Comic Con said in a Facebook post that Hemsworth was unable to appear due to a change in his filming schedule. “We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause as Chris and his team worked diligently to make this appearance possible, but unfortunately, were unable to at this point.”
Actors Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, and Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson/Falcon, have been added to the lineup for Saturday and Sunday.
Information on refunds or swaps for those who purchased VIP packages, or autograph or photo ops involving Hemsworth, is posted on the ACE Comic Con Facebook post.
This is the second time a main headliner has canceled an appearance at the Seattle event. Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, had originally been scheduled to attend, but on May 17 said he had to pull out due to an “unforeseen family matter.”
