Smashing Pumpkins plays KeyArena Friday, Aug. 24.
Three of the four original members of The Smashing Pumpkins are reuniting for their first tour since 2000, with a stop at KeyArena in August.
Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin and James Iha are getting back together — joined by guitarist Jeff Schroeder, who joined the band in the late 2000s — for the 36-city Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour that begins in July in Glendale, Arizona. (Original bassist D’Arcy Wretzky will not be joining; there’s been drama about that.)
They’ll be playing KeyArena on Friday, Aug. 24. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23 and can be purchased in person at the KeyArena box office, by phone at 800-745-3000, or via Ticketmaster.com, smashingpumpkins.com, LiveNation.com, and via the Live Nation app.
It’s also the 30th anniversary of Smashing Pumpkins, and, on the tour, the band will play material from its debut, “Gish,” through “Siamese Dream,” “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness,” “Adore” and “Machina.” The band has produced nine studio albums and sold more than 30 million albums.
