What's coming and going on Netflix in June.
Netflix brings two of the biggest blockbusters of 2017, “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” with Mark Hamill returning as Luke Skywalker, and “Thor: Ragnarok,” which takes a more playful approach to the Norse god of Thunder played by Chris Hemsworth, to its subscribers in June. They headline a collection dominated by a big slate of Netflix Original movies and TV shows.
The weekly topical commentary “The Break” with Michelle Wolf, headlined by the now notorious comedian with the unfiltered monologue at the recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner, is one of the new Netflix original shows debuting in June. And some of the most popular Netflix Original shows are returning with new seasons: “Luke Cage: Season 2” from the Netflix MCU; “Glow: Season 2” with Allison Brie; British crime drama “Marcella” with Anna Friel; and by popular demand, a feature-length series finale to the cancelled series “Sense8.” Other streaming TV shows include “Portlandia: Season 8,” the final season of the offbeat comedy series from IFC; the animated kid series “Hotel Transylvania” from the Disney Channel; and the most recent seasons of “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “iZombie” and “Supergirl.”
Among the movies debuting direct to Netflix in the U.S. are the romantic comedy “Set It Up” with Taye Diggs and Lucy Liu, drama “Brain on Fire” with Chloë Grace Moretz, true-crime documentary “The Staircase” from the director of the French nonfiction series of the same name, “Ali’s Wedding” from Australia and “Sunday’s Illness” from Spain.
Older films joining the rotating library include the Oscar-winning “The King’s Speech” with Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter, Emmy-winning documentary “He Named Me Malala,” young-adult romantic comedy “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” with Michael Cera and Kat Dennings, Martin Scorsese’s “The Departed” with Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon, Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” crime drama “In Bruges” from the director of “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” and Disney’s animated “Tarzan.”

Among the titles leaving Netflix in June are “Captain America: Civil War” from the Marvel big-screen superhero universe, Martin Scorsese’s “J. Edgar” and Baz Luhrman’s “The Great Gatsby” (both starring Leonardo DiCaprio), and the Oscar-winning “On Golden Pond” with Katharine Hepburn and Henry Fonda.
Here’s the list of what’s arriving on Netflix in June, and what’s leaving. Note that these are just highlights; Stream On Demand will be keeping an eye out for other notable films and TV shows that arrive through the month.
