"Saint Cecilia," a surprise new EP by The Foo Fighters is out.
The Foo Fighters surprised their fans with a brand new free EP, “Saint Cecilia,” released on the band’s website that is available to stream, download digitally and pre-order on vinyl.
Recorded in Austin, Texas’ Saint Cecilia Hotel during the Austin City Limits Festival, the EP features five new songs that sound like vintage Foo Fighters. It includes gritty rock anthems like “the Never Ending Sigh” along with more stripped down somber songs like “Iron Rooster.”
The band’s website also features a letter written by front man Dave Grohl in which he urges fans to donate to victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris. Grohl’s letter also hints at an extended hiatus for the band.
“So tonight, as I sit in my Berlin hotel room on our final tour for this album, counting down the days until we return home, I can’t help but wonder when we will see each other again. Who knows? But, with everything Foo Fighter related, it will only be when it feels right. And that’s a feeling that’s easy to feel.”
