Here's a big list of Easter events in the Seattle area and beyond.
Snohomish celebrates spring at the 38th annual Snohomish Easter Parade with bunnies, bands, pirates, princesses, farm animals and floats through its historic downtown on Saturday, March 31. Anyone with a decorated hat “with all the frills upon it” (as the old song says) is welcome to ride on the parade’s Bonnet Float and join in the Easter Bonnet Contest immediately following the parade. All ages are invited to participate and bonnet-wearing pets are welcome.
Egg hunts for kids to search for candy and plastic eggs are available around Seattle and the region, most on Saturday, March 31. For all egg-hunt events, organizers ask families to bring a bag or basket for each child and arrive 15 minutes before starting time. This allows time to find the starting place, which may vary by children’s ages, and be ready to go at the listed time.
Bunny Bounce at Woodland Park Zoo Saturday includes egg hunts for kids ages 1 to 8 and gets zoo animals in on the fun with Easter basket treats for orangutans, lemurs, grizzlies, lions, meerkats and others. Watching the animals enjoy their special baskets lined with flowers, berries and other favorite treats is fun for visitors and an enrichment activity to enliven the lives of zoo animals. The day also offers crafts, bunny encounters and zoo programs for visitors. Egg hunts for ages 3 and younger are at the Picnic Shelter near the North Meadow from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and egg hunts for ages 3-5 and 6-8 are in the North Meadow, every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Space may be limited; each egg hunt is first-come, first-served.
Here’s a list of local events. Let’s hope for a bit of sunshine, and have fun!
