New COVID relief grant for shuttered event venues opens up; some Washington venue operators already concerned

One week before Gov. Jay Inslee placed a moratorium on large events, music fans packed Neumos on Capitol Hill for a sold-out concert.

A new federal grant relief program, intended to assist live-event venues hit hard by the pandemic, opened up for applications Thursday. But the system glitched. And venue operators were already raising concerns over the program's reach and efficacy.
