It might take Jedi-like precision to bring down the Alaskan Way Viaduct.
Apparently, we weren’t the only ones feeling The Force.
On Tuesday, we noted the similarities between Washington State Department of Transportation drone footage of the new Highway 99 tunnel and a certain popular movie from the 1970s that involves space and a bigfoot-like-creature that bleats incessantly.
The state’s video looks a lot like an important scene in that movie, in which all of space kind is saved from Nazi-like bad guys who have a giant spherical ball that can destroy planets with a single laser blast.
Good news: Someone made a rather clever mash-up of the two.
And more good news: Bertha has tunneled 175 feet since the state closed the Alaskan Way Viaduct. That’s the length of about 1.5 Millennium Falcon spaceships. It has about two Millenium Falcons’ length to go (210 feet, for you earthlings).
