UW receives award for number of women studying computer science: The National Center for Women & Information Technology is recognizing the University of Washington for the number of female undergraduate students who earn degrees in computer science. Approximately 32 percent of the UW’s computer-science degrees go to women — a figure much higher than the average of 14 percent among 200 similarly classified institutions.
