At No. 24, Concur is the highest-ranking area company on the Glassdoor list, which is based on reviews of companies by current or former employees.
Five Seattle-area companies have been rated among the best places to work in the U.S. by Silicon Valley employee-review website Glassdoor: Concur, Zillow, Costco, Microsoft and a newcomer, Aegis Living.
The annual list ranks large companies with at least 75 anonymous, verified reviews from current or former employees that rate the company and its executives.
Tech companies were, as always, well represented on the list, though the rankings showed quite a bit of diversity this year. Popular eatery In-N-Out Burger was No. 7 with a score of 4.4 stars out of 5, and Delta Air Lines came in at No. 21 with a score of 4.3.
Management consulting firm Bain & Company took top honors, barely beating out Menlo Park, Calif.-based Facebook. The social media company has a huge Seattle presence, and recently announced it is expanding to yet another South Lake Union building with enough space to double its employee base in the region.

Last year, seven Seattle companies made the list, but eliminations and newcomers resulted in a net of five this year.
The first Seattle-area company, Bellevue-based travel and expense company Concur, shows up at No. 24 with a score of 4.3. It is followed by Zillow Group at No. 29, Costco at No. 34 and Microsoft at No. 37.
A newcomer to the list is Redmond-based assisted-living company Aegis Living, at No. 46. The company, which has 13 locations in the Puget Sound region, is the first assisted-living company to make the list.
Several companies with large Seattle presences, including electronic signature company DocuSign, Google, Salesforce and SpaceX, also made the Top 50 cut.
Seattle plastic-surgery site RealSelf and software company Chef came in at No. 17 and 22, respectively, on the list for small and medium-size companies, which requires at least 25 employee reviews.
