Heads up: The Fed meets Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss whether to cut interest rates more. Key economic reports due out this week include Monday’s new-home sales figures for December; the monthly updates on durable-goods orders and the consumer-confidence index on Tuesday; fourth-quarter figures on gross domestic project Wednesday, and Thursday the December report on personal income and spending. Tuesday: Costco Wholesale holds its annual shareholders meeting at Bellevue’s Meydenbauer Center at 4 p.m.

Wednesday: Boeing reports its fourth-quarter and full-year earnings for 2007. On a conference call with analysts and media, Chief Executive Jim McNerney will report record orders for 2007. But he’ll be questioned closely about the announcement earlier this month of an extra three-month delay in the company’s 787 Dreamliner program…. Starbucks releases its first-quarter earnings, the company’s first earnings release since Howard Schultz reassumed the role of chief executive earlier this month.
