A Nordstrom Rack is coming to Kirkland.

The company says it plans to open a 35,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack in The Village at Totem Lake, with opening scheduled for fall 2017.

It will be the seventh Western Washington location for the off-price division of the high-end clothing company. There are currently 204 Nordstrom Rack stores total.

Sales at Nordstrom Rack have held up reasonably well even as Nordstrom’s full-line brick-and-mortar stores saw a plunge in sales and profits in the midst of a retail downturn in the past year.

In its most recent quarter, sales at Nordstrom Rack locations open at least a year were up 1.1 percent, while those at full-line Nordstrom stores were down 6.5 percent.

The property at The Village at Totem Lake is owned by CenterCal Properties, which is redeveloping the 43-year-old Totem Lake Mall into a mixed-use center that will include luxury apartments, shopping, dining and entertainment.

Other tenants in the development will include Whole Foods Market, Trader Joe’s, Ross, a luxury movie theater and more.
