Workers from event-services company Radarworks stage a mock political rally touting Microsoft’s Live Search outside Microsoft’s annual company meeting Thursday at Safeco Field. About 23,000 employees were registered to attend the meeting. As they arrived, the “politician” on stage yelled, ” We here need a search we can believe in,” and “Vote with your mouse!” Cheering him were Radarworks employees, from right, Hayley Jeffcoat, Malcolm Nauman and David Ruther. Meanwhile, research firm comScore reported Thursday that Microsoft’s search engine claimed 8.3 percent of the U.S. search market in August, down from 8.9 percent in July. Second-place Yahoo also lost market share, while runaway leader Google gained 1.1 percentage points to 63 percent.
