Architecture: Steve Galey, Philip Riedel and Matt Rumbaugh were promoted to senior associates and Eve Carlson, J. Scott Haas, Karee Loghry and Shirley Myers were promoted to associates at Northwest Architectural Co.

Banking: Sharon Pittman was hired as a mortgage banker/broker at Golf Savings Bank, Everett.

Economic development: Laura Lutz was promoted to business development director and Brian Surratt was named industry sectors manager at Seattle’s Office of Economic Development.

Engineering: Gregg Davidson was promoted to associate at Jacobs Associates.

Golf: Kathy Blumstein was named general manager at The Golf Club at Echo Falls, Snohomish.

Health care: Michael Ninburg, executive director of the Seattle-based Hepatitis Education Project, was elected president of the National Hepatitis C Advocacy Council.

Hotels: Lisa Balzotti was appointed catering-sales manager and Shawn Bounds corporate-sales manager at the Sorrento Hotel.

Law: Rick Ballinger joined Perkins Coie as an associate. Robert Manlowe, of Williams, Kastner & Gibbs, was elected to the board of directors of the International Association of Defense Counsel. Steve Block, of Betts, Patterson & Mines, was elected national president of the Association of Transportation Law Professionals. Stephanie Andersen was elected a partner at Gordon Polscer. Jamie Goodwin, Laura Karassik and Derek de Bakker joined Foster Pepper & Shefelman as associates. Lisa Miner was hired as human-resources director at Short Cressman & Burgess.

Organizations: Kevin Shoemaker, COO of Consolidated Restaurants, was elected president of the Seattle Executives Association.

Retail: Ron Miller was named senior vice president of merchandising at Bartell Drugs.

Television: Ray Heacox was named president and general manager of KING-TV, KONG-TV and NorthWest Cable News.


Accounting: Rita Woolworth was hired as tax manager at Sweeney Conrad, Bellevue.

Homebuilding: Tien Peng was promoted to director of design at Quadrant Homes, Bellevue.

Technology: Eric Rembold was named director of sales at TranSenda, Bellevue. Alexander Tokman was named president and chief operations officer and Steve Willey was named president, consumer solutions at Microvision, Bothell.
