Seattle-based Sparling Engineering, a 130-person design firm with additional offices in Portland and San Diego, said it had agreed to be acquired by Stantec, a Canadian consulting firm based in Edmonton with more than 15,000 employees worldwide.

Sparling said its larger projects include electrical engineering for Amazon’s South Lake Union campus; consulting for the expansion of Kemper Development’s Lincoln Square in Bellevue; and work on the University of Washington Medical Center’s Montlake Tower.

The deal is expected to close in late February. Terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed.
