Another 41 employees of Emeritus Senior Living are being laid off, the final step in reducing the Seattle-based assisted living operator’s headquarters staff from about 300 to 50 after it was bought last year by Nashville-based Brookdale Senior Living.

Brookdale agreed last February to acquire Emeritus for $1.4 billion in stock and $1.4 billion in assumed debt.

Emeritus had about 300 employees at its headquarters near the Olympic Sculpture Park when the sale was completed last July. Brookdale said at the time it would eliminate about 250 of those jobs.

This final round of layoffs, effective April 2, gets the number of employees at the local Emeritus office down to 50, according to a Brookdale spokewoman.

The company currently has about 1,150 facilities in 46 states, with room for up to 110,000 residents.
