For older job seekers

Age 55+ Job Club Workshop: The next workshop for people 55 and older looking for work will be 10:30 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the Alaska Building, 618 Second Ave., in the 13th-floor conference room. It’s sponsored by the Seattle Mayor’s Office for Senior Citizens. Info: and click on “Age 55+ Employment Resource Center.”

Worker retraining

Local community colleges offer free weekly sessions to help the unemployed, formerly self-employed and displaced homemakers. They can receive free books and tuition for retraining. The locations and times:
