Stone34, the five-story headquarters of Brooks Sports, has been sold for $70.1 million, records show.

Skanska USA said Monday it sold the development at 3400 Stone Way N. to a joint venture of Seattle-based firms Unico Properties and Laird Norton Properties.

The site, across the street from the popular Burke-Gilman Trail, stands at the northeast corner of Stone Way North and North 34th Street, between Seattle’s Wallingford and Fremont neighborhoods.

In 2011, Skanska obtained a 55-year ground lease on the property from Suzie Burke’s Fremont Dock Co.

Last summer, it opened a new 130,000-square-foot office and retail building, which city permits indicate cost about $30 million.

It’s the first commercial project built to the city’s “deep green” standards, which require 75 percent energy and water savings compared to a conventional building. As part of the sale, the ground lease was transferred to the new owners.
