After touring Boeing's 777-200LR today, Airbus CEO Noel Forgeard returned the favor and showed Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Alan Mulally the massive Airbus A380 superjumbo jet.
Airbus CEO Noel Forgeard emerges this morning from the Boeing 777-200LR parked at Le Bourget for the Paris Air Show in the photo at right. Forgeard, right front, is escorted by Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Alan Mulally.
Behind them as they come down the aircraft steps are Gerard Blanc, Airbus executive vice president of operations; John Leahy, Airbus chief commercial officer; Allan McArtor, chairman of Airbus North America; Lars Andersen, Boeing vice president of the 777 program; and Frank Santoni, Boeing’s chief test pilot on the 777 program.
Inside this show airplane there is a mock-up of an Airbus A340 fuselage cross-section, fitted inside the 777 to show airlines just how much more space the Boeing plane provides passengers.
After seeing the 777, Forgeard returned the favor and took Mulally on a tour of the massive A380 superjumbo jet, the star attraction at the daily flying displays in Le Bourget.
