Trent Green, the CEO of Amazon’s primary care clinic, One Medical, is leaving Amazon after a year and a half in the role to become CEO of National Research Corp., a health company, according to an email sent Tuesday. He joined the primary care clinic in 2022 shortly before Amazon’s acquisition, which was completed in 2023.

Company spokeswoman Breanna Shirk confirmed the departure in an email statement, adding: “We are grateful to Trent for his many contributions and wish him well on his next endeavor.” (Amazon founder Jeff Bezos owns The Washington Post.)

According to an email to staff from senior vice president Neil Lindsay, Green is moving back to his home state of Nebraska. Lindsay said Green had overseen important projects such as integrating One Medical into Amazon Health Services and adding medical services to Amazon’s Prime membership. He replaced Amir Dan Rubin, who left One Medical in August 2023, less than a year after Amazon acquired the company.

“Trent has helped One Medical solidify its position as an incredible place for providers to deliver – and patients to turn to (and return for) – high-quality, human-centered care,” said the email, a copy of which was obtained by The Post.

Amazon’s health offerings include Amazon Pharmacy, which is working to expand same-day delivery for prescriptions, as well as a pay-per-visit telehealth service for common conditions like acne and pink eye without membership or insurance requirements.

Amazon completed its $3.9 billion acquisition of One Medical in early 2023. Since then, the company has undergone layoffs and restructuring, which prompted concerns among some staff over patient safety, The Post previously reported.

Documents previously obtained by The Post showed some urgent calls from patients were mishandled, and a family is suing the company over the alleged wrongful death of a patient in California in December 2023.

The company did not immediately name a replacement for Green.
