    Seattle-area office market makes painful adjustments

    Remote work and economic uncertainties have cooled the office market, even in former hotspots like Bellevue. Some experts think a bigger reset may be coming.

    Ian Morgan was prevented from taking a better job because of no-poaching agreement between his former employer, Dealer Tire, and a prospective employer.

“It went from normally where you think it’s easy to get a job instantly or within two weeks to find somewhere else to not having a job in your career field that you’ve been with for 11 years. So not being able to do everything that you’ve been taught to do for 11 years is really hard,” said Morgan.

    Microsoft to cut 10,000 jobs, including at least 878 in Seattle area

    Microsoft didn't specify which sites would see job cuts, but the layoffs will involve employees based in Redmond, Bellevue and Issaquah, according to ESD.
