Seattle City Council seeks to require $4 per hour pandemic pay boost for grocery workers

Under a proposal by Seattle City Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda, grocery store owners would have to pay workers $4 an hour extra during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mosqueda cited the virus's continued growth and the slow rollout of the vaccine as reasons to mandate hazard pay nearly 11 months into the pandemic.
