You can celebrate the arrival of spring and learn the basics of rowing with a two-day class that the Pocock Rowing Center calls “easygoing.”

The class will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. March 22 and 23. It costs $30 per person or $50 for two people

The center, 3320 Fuhrman Ave. E., furnishes the equipment and Briana Schulte of the George Pocock Rowing Foundation says you don’t have to be an athlete to participate.

“As long as you can squat, lift approximately 40 pounds overhead, and you can pass a float test, you will be able to row,” she says.

Also on March 22 and 23, Martial Arts master Dan Inosanto conducts a two-day seminar hosted by NW KALI.

“The seminar is geared to give participants an overview of the martial-arts methods that Dan Inosanto has been studying and teaching for the last 50 years,” said NW KALI owner Christopher Clarke, who has hosted this seminar the past 22 years.
