UPDATE 8:40 P.M.: Two people were rescued after they drove their car into a flooded road way in Fall City. A woman and a man were floated to safety after the King County Sheriff dispatched a marine unit and Guardian One helicopter. Both were cold but unharmed.

ORIGINAL POST 8:14 P.M.: Flooding on the Snoqualmie River near Fall City has closed Highway 202 and prompted a rescue in progress of a car that is apparently trapped in water over the roadway.

The King County Sheriff and Eastside Fire and Rescue were attempting to rescue people who were seen clinging to a vehicle or to branches on the 2500 block of Neal Road Southeast. A boat was being launched around 8 p.m. in an attempt to rescue them, according to dispatchers.

Highway 202 is blocked between Fish Hatchery Road and the interchange with Highway 203 near Fall City.

In addition, there is water over the road way on Highway 203 at Southeast Third Street and at Northeast124th Street. Drivers are advised to avoid the area, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The Snoqualmie and Green rivers were at Level III flood stage late Sunday.
