LAS VEGAS — Adam Morrison scored 24 points to lead 22nd-ranked Gonzaga to an 85-73 victory over No. 3 Georgia Tech last night in a Las Vegas Showdown men’s game at Thomas & Mack Center.


Morrison, who is from Spokane, made 11 of 18 shots from the field.


Derek Raivio of Vancouver, Wash., added 21 points — 10 above his average — for the Zags.


Ronny Turiaf contributed 17 points and 10 rebounds for Gonzaga (8-1).


The Zags have won five in a row since losing to Illinois, currently ranked No. 1 in the country.


Will Bynum scored a career-high 28 points off the bench for Georgia Tech (7-1), but he couldn’t keep the Yellow Jackets from their first loss of the season.


B.J. Elder added 16 points for Georgia Tech, and Jarrett Jack had 15.


“That’s a great team we beat,” Gonzaga coach Mark Few said.


Gonzaga shot 49.2 percent from the field, compared with 40.3 percent for the Yellow Jackets.


The Zags outrebounded Georgia Tech 41-36.


Georgia Tech, from the Atlantic Coast Conference, played in the national-championship game last season, losing 82-73 to Connecticut in San Antonio.
