HONOLULU – Junior guard Tia Presley scored a career-high 29 points to lead Washington State to a 79-65 victory over Mississippi on Sunday.
The Cougars (2-3) were playing their third game in three days at the Rainbow Wahine Classic; they lost to Hawaii 77-66 on Friday and to West Virginia 88-66 on Saturday.
Presley, a graduate of Gonzaga Prep in Spokane, made 11 of 21 shots from the field and 6 of 7 free throws against Ole Miss to surpass her previous high of 27 points set Jan. 6 against Arizona State.
Sage Romberg and Lia Galdeira added 14 points each for WSU, which hosts Fresno State on Friday.

UConn defeated three Top 25 opponents in a span of seven days, as it beat Stanford 76-57 on Monday and No. 8 Maryland 72-55 on Friday.
In games involving top-five teams other than UConn and Stanford, No. 2 Duke routed Alabama 92-57; fourth-ranked Tennessee beat Georgia Tech 87-76; and No. 5 Louisville outlasted No. 11 Oklahoma 97-92 in overtime.
Louisville’s Tia Gibbs scored 23 points as the Cardinals won the Preseason WNIT tournament title.
