Bennett visited the UW last weekend, then canceled recruiting visits to Michitan State and Hawaii. Bennett’s brother Zack is a freshman on the UW crew team.


“I didn’t want to wait,” she told HoopGurlz.com. “I already knew where I wanted t go.”


She was ranked as the No. 35 prospect in the nation by the site. It is the fifth verbal commitment for the Huskies’ 2007 class, following Sarah Morton, a 5-8 guard from Monroe; Candice Nichols, 5-11 guard from Long Beach, Calif; Mackenzie Argens, a 6-3 center from Seattle; and Katelan Redmon, a 6-foot guard from Spokane.


None of the players can sign a letter of intent until November.
