What to expect: A shootout could be in the offing. Arizona is averaging 37 points but allowing 32.7. Washington scores just 21.3 and allows 25.8. But the Huskies have shown signs of offensive life the past few weeks, especially in the running game.
Notes: UW leads the all-time series 18-9-1 and has won 11 of the past 17. That includes two of three under Steve Sarkisian, both in Seattle. … The Huskies have two players from Arizona on their roster, running back Kendyl Taylor (Chandler) and deep snapper Ryan Masel (Phoenix). Arizona has one player with area ties, walk-on linebacker Sir Thomas Jackson of O’Dea. Jackson has earned a starting role and has 37 tackles and a sack.
Injuries: Out for UW are WR James Johnson (wrist), OL Erik Kohler (knee) and DL Lawrence Lagafuaina (leg). OT Ben Riva, out since breaking a forearm against San Diego State, was listed again on the depth chart this week and could be back. LB Shaq Thompson suffered a lower leg injury against USC, but it wasn’t considered serious. For Arizona, DE Dominique Austin (foot) and WR Terrence Miller (ankle) are out. C Kyle Quinn (ankle), G Trace Biskin (toe), S Jared Tevis (ankle), WR Johnny Jackson (ankle) and DE Kirifi Taula (shoulder) are listed as questionable..
Upset brewing? UW, which has scored no more than 21 points in any of its five games against FBS foes, faces one of the worst defenses in the nation in Arizona. The Wildcats have been particularly susceptible to the run. If the Huskies can get their running game going, it will open up the passing of Keith Price and could keep the high-powered Arizona offense off the field.
Prediction: Arizona 35, Washington 31
