Pettis' seven career punt-return touchdowns are one shy of the all-time NCAA record.
Washington senior receiver Dante Pettis has been named the Pac-12’s special teams player of the week following his seventh career punt-return touchdown in Saturday’s 63-7 victory over Montana.
His seventh punt-return touchdown broke the Pac-12 record and moves him within one of the all-time NCAA record of eight (held Texas Tech’s Wes Welker and Oklahoma’s Antonio Perkins).
It’s Pettis’ third career Pac-12 player of the week recognition.
UW coaches on Monday named safety Taylor Rapp the team’s special teams player of the week.
