BERKELEY, Calif. — Afure Jemerigbe scored a career-high 23 points, and Brittany Boyd had 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists Sunday to lead No. 22 California past No. 15 Arizona State 74-63.
Boyd made four of her last six free throws and Cal (18-7, 10-4) closed the game on an 11-5 run to give the Bears sole possession of second place in the Pac-12.
Gennifer Brandon added 15 points and 14 rebounds, and Reshanda Gray had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Cal led 32-30 at halftime and opened the second half on an 11-0 run against the Sun Devils (20-6, 9-5).

Sydney Wiese scored 17 points and the Beavers (17-9, 9-5) ran their Pac-12 home record to 7-0 by beating the Women of Troy (16-10, 9-5). USC led by two after a low-scoring first half, 22-20. Oregon State grabbed the lead on a three-pointer by Wiese with 12:09 left. Wiese drilled a second three-pointer and Gabriella Hanson added a layup that put the Beavers ahead 40-33.
At No. 6 Stanford 74, Arizona 48
Bonnie Samuelson knocked down five three-pointers on the way to 17 points, all scored in the first half, and the Cardinal (24-2, 12-2) had no trouble with the Wildcats (5-20, 1-13). Chiney Ogwumike scored 11 of her 15 points during a decisive run late in the first half that put the game away for the Cardinal. Stanford’s Karlie Samuelson sat out with a foot injury as a precaution.
