Gandara is a native of Puerto Rico, and the move will take him and his wife Stephanie and son Lucas closer to family.
Heavily involved in opponent scouting, Gandara was in charge of Washington’s blocking. This season, the Huskies led the NCAA in blocks per set (3.36). UW’s Amanda Gil led the nation with 1.82 blocks per set.
