Junior Tyler Davis allowed three hits over 72
3 innings and struck out 10 to lead Washington to a 1-0 victory over Oregon in a Pac-12 baseball game Saturday night at Husky Ballpark.

Davis (6-1), who didn’t allow a walk, left in the eighth inning with the potential tying run at second base.

Reliever Troy Rallings came in and got a strikeout to end the threat, then escaped a bases-loaded jam in the ninth.

Washington got the only run it needed in the third inning when Robert Pehl hit a two-out double to score Andrew Ely, who got on base with a walk.

Pehl’s hit was one of just two that Washington had in the game, but that didn’t matter because of Davis’ dominating performance.

The Huskies ( 21-6-1, 9-2 Pac-12) evened the series one day after Oregon (23-7, 7-4) broke their 10-game winning streak with a 10-3 victory.

The finale of the series is Sunday at 3 p.m.
