Normally an exhibition game would give Washington a gauge for the season.

After Tuesday’s 92-46 win against Concordia at Alaska Airlines Arena, though, the outlook remains cloudy.

The Huskies played their only exhibition of the season with eight players. Redshirt freshman Talia Walton was a late scratch due to a chin piercing that couldn’t be removed or taped to comply with NCAA regulations. Returnee Kelli McCann-Smith isn’t with the team for undisclosed reasons. Redshirt freshman Deborah Meeks is rehabilitating her knee. And prized recruit Katie Collier is out this season with a torn ACL.

Senior Jeneva Anderson limped off the court with two minutes remaining in the game with an apparent right leg injury.

Rotations and lineups weren’t as envisioned. But against an overwhelmed Concordia team, UW was able to run solid half-court offense, show the versatility of its plethora of guards and give a glimpse of how freshman center Mathilde Gilling could fill the void inside for the Huskies.

A 6-foot-3 recruit from Denmark, Gilling had quickness to run with the guards and showed good instincts on defense, tipping shots and grabbing eight rebounds. Four players finished scoring in double figures led by sophomore Jazmine Davis’ 19 points. Sophomore Aminah Williams (18 points, 20 rebounds) and redshirt senior Kristi Kingma (15 points, 12 rebounds) had double-doubles.

Kingma returned to play after tearing her ACL during UW’s European tour in August 2011. Disregarding her knee brace, she hustled for loose balls and rebounded.
